Goals for 2024

It’s a new year which means it’s time for some new goals. Setting goals is a way of setting yourself up for success for the new year. Of course everyone’s goals are going to vary from what they are, to how big or small, to how many. But at the end of the day, setting goals is a great way to keep yourself motivated throughout the year. If you need some ideas for goals, here’s some inspiration:

1. Get your body moving

This is a very common New Year’s goal for a reason. It’s something that pretty much everyone can get better at. It can be hard to find time to workout or exercise if you have a busy schedule. So, you can find some ways to incorporate exercise into your schedule in a way that works for you. Some ideas are going for a walk in the morning, yoga, pilates, etc. Doing a small workout is always better than doing none, don’t get discouraged if you don’t have time to workout for an hour.

2. Read more books

Reading is a great way to learn new things, and a great cure to boredom. You can experiment and try different genres of books until you find one that you like. This could be fiction, horror, romance, adventure, etc. There are endless options out there, so you are sure to find at least one you enjoy. And if you don’t want to purchase books, going to your nearby library could be a fun and free way to get into reading.

3. Spend less

We’ve all gone on a shopping spree or two, just to realize we didn’t need all that stuff we bought. And that’s ok, it happens. But we could make it a goal this year to only buy things we need, or really want and are sure to use multiple times. If not, then it can be considered an unnecessary purchase. This will help out your bank account, as well as not cluttering the space you live in.

4. No unnecessary scrolling

It can be so easy to go on your phone for thirty minutes which can then end up being three hours. There are so many different apps and platforms that can keep you on your phone forever. So, maybe set timers for yourself or screen time. That way you are limiting yourself from doing all the mindless scrolling that will just end up making you feel lazy later on.

5. Something for your future

Set a goal for your future, and start working on it. Let’s say you want to be a film director, start reading about how to do that. It is never too early to start working towards one of your dreams. Plus, the sooner you start it is the sooner it can happen.

6. Good grades

If you are still in middle school, highschool, or college, then this one’s for you. Keeping up good grades isn’t always easy, but if you make it a priority it can be slightly easier. Find ways to motivate yourself, such as allowing yourself to watch an episode of your favorite show after studying for a certain amount of time. There are plenty of good motivation techniques out there that you can find. But getting good grades is a good way to set yourself up for success.
