World Games in Birmingham – Could it Bring Human Traffickers?

Birmingham is one of the most active areas for human trafficking in the Southeast.  The Global Slavery Index estimates that there are over 6,000 victims of human trafficking each day in Alabama, which includes labor and sex trafficking. With the World Games coming to Birmingham in July 2022, we do want our readers to be aware of the increased dangers that are also a possibility. Many human trafficking victims are the age of our viewing audience (13-18). The articles below offer good advice on what to look out for and ideas on how to keep yourself safe, as well as how to identify someone who may be in trouble.
