I’m Reading 22 Books in 2022, Here’s Why

I’ve never been one for New Years Resolutions. Most people forget them on January 10th, and some don’t even make it that long. We all swear at the beginning of each year that this one will be our year, but I’m tired of everyone trying to get fit or get their life organized. I want to be raw and real, and so, I’ve come up with my very first New Year’s Resolution: I’m going to read 22 books in the year 2022. I will choose somethings that are attainable, enjoyable, and beneficial.

Starting Over

I have always loved to read. My love for reading was lost, however, when I began receiving reading assignments where I had to read books I hated. It was replaced by only trying to finish the book to write a paper or give a presentation.

I no longer went home and chose a book over watching TV or my phone because I lost that great feeling of being unable to put a book down and stop reading. For a few years, I read very little and I didn’t know what to do about it. But during quarantine I began reading for pleasure once more, and I reignited that spark. So this year, I’ve decided to read 22 books for the year 2022. I am so very excited.

As I said before, I recently renewed my love for books and also my love for choosing books. I already have my first four picked out because I received two as gifts and the other two were bought. I will forever be grateful that my mother is a reading teacher and doesn’t mind footing the bill for my crippling book addiction.

So, without further ado, here are the first four books I’m reading for the year 2022!

  1. The Midnight Library- Matt Haig
  2. One of Us Is Lying- Karen M. McManus
  3. Daisy Jones and The Six- Taylor Jenkins Reid
  4. The Music Shop- Rachel Joyce

I am very eager to start reading them and I can’t wait to finish and do some book reviews. To see the pending reviews on these books throughout the year and other book reviews, check under the book review section of GirlSpring and find your next great read! Hopefully, you consider reading some books in 2022! It doesn’t matter if it’s 5 or 15, reading is one magical experience. Happy Reads and Happy New Year!
