Fall Activities To Do With Your Friends

A girl carrying pumpkins

Fall-the time of year when the leaves turn that beautiful amber color, cozy sweaters become absolutely necessary, and pumpkin spice lattes are the drink of choice. Yes, that might be slightly cliche, but I do believe that fall is one of the greatest seasons all year and is meant to be enjoyed to its fullest. Whether you like to spend your time sitting on your porch watching the leaves fall with a warm cup of coffee, or inside enjoying fall classics like You’ve Got Mail, we could all use some activities to add to our fall itinerary to spice it up.

Have A Pumpkin Carving Contest

Nothing says fun like a little bit of friendly competition right? A pumpkin carving contest is an activity that my friends and I have been doing for years that we love. Grab a few carving kits and pumpkins from the store, separate into teams and let the fun ensue.

Scooping out pumpkin guts definitely makes for a bonding experience, and attempting to carve the pumpkins without them falling apart is a struggle. Nevertheless, you’ll certainly be glad you added this fun activity to your fall bucket list.

Fall Baking!

Personally, baking is one of my favorite activities all throughout the year. However, fall baking has a different flair to it. The warmth of the spices, the richness of the pumpkin, and the crispness of apples give fall foods a new layer of depth. Baking with friends is always entertaining and fall baking can be even more exciting.

A personal favorite of mine is this pumpkin bread. I love to get my friends together, play some of our favorite music, and bake to our heart’s desire. Half the time the end result is crummy at best, but the memories we make together are irreplaceable.

Have A Fall Picnic

Ok yes, technically you can do this all year I know that. But isn’t everything just a little bit more aesthetic and exciting during fall? Fall weather perfectly lends itself to most outdoor activities. We can finally get away from the summer heat but haven’t quite entered into the freezing tundra that is winter.

So grab your friends, some sweaters, a basket, a blanket, and some yummy snacks and head to your local park. This could also be a great opportunity to enjoy some of those baked goods you and your friends have made. This is sure to be an activity that everyone will enjoy, and you might even get that perfect picture for your Instagram page!

Go To A Pumpkin Patch

Lastly, go to a pumpkin patch! Ever since I was in Kindergarten and my school took a trip to Old Baker Farm (perfect for those of you who live near Birmingham), going to the pumpkin patch has been a staple in my fall agenda. Pumpkin picking is always fun, and mostly pumpkin patches have even more attractions.

My personal favorite activities are to get a cup of warm apple cider and go on a hayride or to race my friends through the corn maze. The pumpkin patch is my favorite because it feels so quintessentially fall. If I miss a trip to the pumpkin patch the season really doesn’t feel the same to me.

From one fall lover to another, I truly hope these activities bring you joy and make the season memorable. Everyone needs a little something to brighten their day, especially during a busy school year. I hope these activities are able to do just that and bring you and your friends some wonderful memories.
