Teen acne is so common and it can be pretty disturbing. In this turbulent period of life, when the body goes through numerous changes, the skin is not spared either. Most teenagers experience acne in puberty in some form. Some are more fortunate, and for them acne is only an occasional occurrence, while some start their long-term struggle with this problem and cannot get rid of them. Read on to find out what to do and what you should never do to fight acne.

Do use natural treatments for acne

Natural treatments for pimples at puberty are becoming increasingly popular, as they can be very effective without causing skin irritation. Many natural ingredients have active properties that help fight acne at puberty. Such are, for example, tea tree oil, coastal pine resin, aloe vera, and others. In addition to ready-made cosmetics with natural active ingredients, some natural, homemade treatments, such as anti-pimple masks, can be tried in the treatment of pubertal pimples. After having a natural treatment it’s recommended that you use a hot towel for acne in order to make sure your face stays soft and clean.

Do use benzoyl peroxide

Products that contain benzoyl peroxide are most often recommended for the treatment of teen acne. Such preparations can be found in different strengths. It is best to seek the advice of a dermatologist before use because benzoyl peroxide can cause some side effects on the skin and you should be careful with the dosage. Then, when the right measure is found, this can be a very effective treatment for removing teenage acne. Benzoyl peroxide dissolves fat, has an antibacterial effect, and solves the problem by influencing the cause itself.

Don’t sleep with your makeup

The skin naturally regenerates while you sleep, giving skincare products a perfect chance to perform their magic. However, if you do not clean the skin before going to bed, you risk leaving the pores clogged, increasing the excess sebum, which can lead to the appearance of new acne. In addition, this prevents the skin from recovering, including the formation of new cells, which could accelerate the appearance of visible signs of aging.

Do use salicylic acid for acne

Salicylic acid is part of many anti-pimple preparations that you can get in the form of gels, lotions, creams, and soaps for the face. With regular use, they can help improve the condition of the skin. Salicylic acid is beta hydroxy acid. It acts as an exfoliant – it removes dead cells from the surface of the skin and thus prevents them from reaching the pores and clogging them.

Don’t squeeze your acne

Every time you squeeze a pimple or blackhead, you somehow create an injury to the skin that can either leave a scar or be the scene of an infection, which then causes new pimples to form. As a rule, when you squeeze the pimple, at least three new ones will appear. This, our so-called home, and manual squeezing is dangerous for the skin because it is usually incorrect and not completely hygienic. OK, you don’t roll in the mud, you don’t immerse your hands in bacteria and touch your face, but no matter how much you think you take care of hygiene, there is always that “but”.

Do use a homemade honey mask

Honey is one of the best remedies for pimples. It is a natural antibiotic that helps prevent infections and speeds up the healing process of acne. Put a little honey on a cotton swab, and then gently massage the affected areas. Let it stay and then rinse it. Before applying a natural honey mask, hold your head over the steam that will open your clogged pores. Honey will penetrate the skin much better and heal it.
