Poem: A Love Letter to Autumn

Autumn Leaves

Summer is the season of lust and life but fall is where I choose to thrive.

The heat that fuels others only drains me of my self,

I stand dormant until the leaves become antsy, adorning clothing of red, yellow, and purple.

Once again dancing to the earth where I may join them in celebration.

I wave Persephone goodbye and embrace the world that is left behind.

My soul becomes whole and I am at peace once more.

I anticipate the cool breeze that opens its arms to me so I may breathe in new meaning,

where greenery ends but only marks the beginning of a new chapter

one where change can rejuvenate rather than suffocate.

Summer is the season of passion and adolescence but fall is where I thrive.
