How to Brighten A Friend’s Day

How to brighten your friends day:

Sometimes we all need a little something to cheer us up! Whether that’s from a bad test grade, not having a good night’s sleep, whatever it may be. And sometimes it can be nice to do something for someone else when they need it. So, if you have a friend who may need a pick-me-up, here are some ideas for you.

Send flowers:

This one is sure to make anyone smile. After all, who wouldn’t love to receive flowers at their door? This one can also be adjusted to fit whatever price range you might be working with. Such as you can get one type of flower, or a whole bouquet of different kinds. The option is entirely up to you. A great way to do this is by using something such as DoorDash, and ordering from a local grocery store such as Meijer. Just don’t forget the note to go along with it.

A “this made me think of you”:

This one doesn’t take much from your end. But it can – depends how much effort you want to put into it. But basically the idea is just to let them know you are thinking of them. You can do this in whatever makes sense for them. This can be by sending a song, getting them their favorite fast food burger, or making a friendship bracelet. Get creative with it and have fun! Just think of what they like, and how you can incorporate that into something nice for them.

Call them:

If you are having a bad day, sometimes all that you need is just someone to talk to. This can be helpful for venting, or just getting your mind off of what is bothering you. Either way a call is very easy to do. It is something that is pretty simple to fit into your schedule, even if you are busy. You can multitask and do things such as laundry, going for a walk, etc. Even if it is just a thirty minute phone call, it is sure to mean a lot to someone who needs some cheering up in their day.

Leave notes:

A little positivity or words of encouragement can go a long way. Leave some fun, encouraging, or funny notes for them to find. This can be things such as inside jokes, simple quotes, or just little drawings. And you can leave multiple for them to find such as in their locker, car, notebook, etc. Who wouldn’t smile at receiving a positive note randomly from a friend? And get creative with it! You can write down songs they should listen to, put links to funny Youtube videos, etc. Think outside of the box, and make a variety of different notes. But make sure to include at least one encouraging pick-me-up note.
