    The Little Things

    the little things

    The Little Things

I pay attention to the way the sun sets every night and take a picture if it’s different than usual

I spray my perfume the same each day, twice on my left wrist and then on my right

I write letters about the things I love just to make me happy

and I put flowers in my hair in the spring

I braid my sister’s hair how my mother braided mine

and I collect trinkets I’ve found over time

I’ve made my room my sanctuary

To me girlhood is the little things
