We’re all aware of the female stereotypes. The most popular one is us being obsessed with fashion and being popular, but how do different animated shows portray women?
To start with, we’ll be talking about my favorite cartoon character ever:
Gaz- Invader Zim (2001-2003, 2006-?)
Gaz is the sister of Dib, and while Dib cares about Zim trying to take over the world, Gaz couldn’t care less. Not because she cares too much about dresses or anything, she doesn’t care about that either. Gaz only cares about two things- pizza and video games. Gaz has a burning hatred for the world, but who can blame her? She is a huge goth, even though she’s only 10.
Rarity-My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (2010-present)
Rarity is a white unicorn with a purple, curly mane. She has a job, making dresses. Rarity is very girly. However, she isn’t shallow. She is often shown as independent, strong, and intelligent, using her wits to get out of situations. She is very generous and cares deeply for her friends, and will not hesitate to help a stranger.
That’s it for now. I plan on making a part two. What characters would you like to see? Tell me in the comments below! Stay strong, ladies!
