A Playlist For Studying

School is back in session and, if you started a few weeks ago like me, the work is starting to pour in. Sometimes it’s hard to focus on schoolwork when there are plenty of distractions around you (which is certainly true if you’re studying from home.) Music helps me focus while doing homework or studying for a test. Many study playlists that can be found around the internet are full of classical songs. While I love classical music and it is very effective for focusing, I thought I would make a study playlist of some different genres (like shoegaze, dream-pop, and downtempo.)

Here’s the playlist I’ve been listening to recently in order to be most productive:

New Grass by Talk Talk

Lazy Calm by Cocteau Twins

Your Hand In Mine by Explosions In The Sky

I Wrote This Song For The Girl Paris Hilton by Vincent Gallo

Rhymes Of An Hour by Mazzy Star

Porpoise by Pale Saints

You Won’t Fall by Lori Carson

Green Arrow by Yo La Tengo

Song To The Siren by This Mortal Coil

Absent Friend by Bark Psychosis

Glory Box by Portishead

Hopefully this playlist helps you focus throughout this school year that is probably quite different for a lot of us. Happy listening!
