University of Toronto

Toronto is the capital of the Canadian State of Ontario, and is located just four hours from Detroit, three hours from Rochester and two hours from Buffalo. The city bustles with opportunity as it is a hub of business, technology, finance and arts. Thus, for a student it is a strategic place to be in, especially if they want to work part-time or get summer internships. 

About U of T

The University of Toronto is a  public research university located near Queen’s park. The main campus of the university is located on 165 acres (67 hectares), and is the biggest campus in Canada. The university has three campuses – St. George, Scarborough, and Mississauga.

Most importantly, the institute has a large alumni network of over 560,000, and some famous alumni are Roberta Bondar, Paul Martin,  and Donald Sutherland. The university offers students a plethora of choices, as it has 700 undergraduate programs, 200 post grad programs, and 39 major teaching divisions.

Altogether, both the U.S. News and Times Higher Education are reputable businesses and they rank University of Toronto as the eighteenth best university globally. 

Admission Requirement 

However, the University of Toronto is a selective university; applicants must have a high GPA and excellent test scores. Secondly, any math, science, or computer science departments require applicants to have taken Calculus 12 or AP Calculus (Precalculus and AP Statistics Cannot be used to satisfy the calculus prerequisite). Additionally, its acceptance rate is 43%. 

Application Process 

For early considerations, applicants must apply by November 7, and for the regular admission the deadline is January 12.
