Artist Statement
I recently decided to start painting again after putting this hobby on hold for a couple of years in order to focus on schoolwork. I named this piece “Enchantment” after debating back and forth with several possible titles. It was strange for me because I usually prefer to leave my work untitled. I tried picturing myself in the painting; imagining how I’d feel standing under the cool shade of a tall tree, with the sun’s rays shining through the leaves. The name ‘Enchanted” was a perfect fit because it describes exactly how I feel when enjoy the serenity of nature.
